American Chopper "Build Off"

Jesse's Bike.

I wish they would have showed a lot more of the building process. When I plugged myself into the TV the first thing I noticed was how the whole show was geared towards the general public. What I mean by that is most people don't have a clue what really goes on in building a bike and lets face it the general public doesn't want to see the long process of hand building a set of forks, or a frame. They would rather see drama. The show was very disappointing to say the least.

I don't get Paul Jr's bike? Its not a real bike its a TV ratings bike. Its a joke and a insult to the motorcycle industry! I can't write anything nice about the show so let's just leave it at that for now.....

  1. I agree. Nothing but crap - I was hoping for something better but like all the shit on TV one big disappointment. Back to real bike building - in my shop! Cheers Colin at Time Cycles

  2. You know when I saw the build off was coming, I immediately thought of the original Biker Build off shows, with the likes of Arlen Ness, and the legend Indian Larry. I figured it would be a good chance with having Jesse in it, but like you said they geared it towards the smack talk and drama then the actual building. Jesse made a great bike, but I think if he wouldn't have been so worried about talking so much smack he could have given us something new instead of the same basic WCC we are used to seeing out of him, but never the less he should have won. On top of the ratings bike as you put, which nailed it on the head, you also had the wtf is thing from OCC. The original Biker build they had to ride that bike for 500 miles to a motorcycle show. Neither of the Tuetuls bike would have done that. And then that live reveal show was just horrible, on top of the second rate hack of a host who tried to build the show up the whole time by making people talk smack to each other, it was an all around horrible setting for a build off. I was looking forward to watching it when I got off at DISH, I figured i would stream it to my phone using my sling adapter while I waited for the bus, at least that part went flawlessly, because the show made me wish I didn't watch it. Lucky I'm with sprint or I would have demanded Discovery compensated me for the bandwidth I used. Bring back the Biker build offs so we can see the new breed of great bike builders, instead of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum as Jesse puts it.
